About the History Behind the Hardwood Professionals in Ann Arbor, MI

The beauty of wood, the different grain patterns, the colors, the density, and the smell of freshly milled wood were part of the desire to start B&B Heartwoods, Inc. in Ann Arbor, MI. The need for a hardwood mill in the Ann Arbor area was also a consideration. Bill helped start a similar business in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the early 1980’s. He had gained a lot of experience working with hardwoods.

In 1985, Bill and Bonnie were married and started their business. They rented their first space in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. In 1989, they purchased ten acres with an old dairy barn on Whitmore Lake Road. They could see the potential immediately and began the process of repairing, rebuilding, and adding the space needed. They moved into their new space in 1998.

Today, they have successfully built a remarkable customer base and a solid reputation. Their attention to detail has led to customer satisfaction, which has been their focus.
